Sydney is a privileged city where you can visit incredible places on a day trip. Monique from travel instagram Moni Journey shared with us her 5 favorite places to take a day trip from Sydney. Check out these destinations below:
1 - Blue Mountains:
It's a classic destination for those who live in Sydney, but it's always worth a day trip. It's an easily accessible destination, as you can get here by train, which is approximately 3 hours from Sydney.
Here are some of the places you can't miss there:
Lincoln's Rock - An incredible lookout point with a breathtaking view of the mountains! The best time to go there is at sunset, when many people gather to watch the end of a beautiful day with some good snacks!

Wentworth Falls - A circuit with several waterfalls from easy to difficult access. Here, you'll have several options of trails and you can choose the best ones to fit in with your day's itinerary. It takes around half a day to complete the circuit.

Three Sisters - The postcard of the Blue Mountains, this is a must!
Zig Zag Railway - One of the most unusual places there is this train line! The place is postcard-worthy and very reminiscent of a tourist destination in Sri Lanka. However, accessing the site is quite complicated, and you also have to be very careful because the trains have started running on the lines again.
If you want to know more about how to get there, check out this article post with all the details.

And finally, some charming cafés in the town of Leura in Blue Mountais for you to discover:
- Leura Cafe & Deli
- Leura Garage

- Sorensens Glass House
2 - Kangaroo Valley and Kiama:
This script, created by Moniqueis very different and complete. On this day trip, you'll pass through several different places and enjoy a bit of beach, trail and waterfall. A perfect day trip, isn't it?
Mermaid pools: A beautiful greenish waterfall with a large swimming hole. This waterfall is the first stop of the day. The trail is super easy to follow and only a little over an hour away from Sydney.
Fitzroy Falls: The next stop is 1 hour from Mermaid Pools and is already located in the Kangaroo Valley region. Fitzroy Falls is another beautiful and majestic waterfall to enjoy on this trip!
Carrington falls: One of the most famous waterfalls in the region! Here at Carrington Falls, you can choose to enjoy the viewpoint and the small pools that form before the fall of the waterfall, or go straight to the bottom where the waterfall falls, that is, both ways are really incredible to enjoy!

KiamaKiama is a small town full of charm with beautiful beaches. Here you'll find great options for lunch and the famous Kiama Blowhole!
Sea Cliff Bridge: This beautiful viewpoint couldn't be left out! On the way back home to Sydney, you'll find this viewpoint where you can get an incredible view of the road, which at this point becomes a bridge. The view is well worth it! The trail to the lookout starts from the parking lot and takes about 15 minutes!
If you still have some time after the Sea Cliff Bridge, visit the temple Sri Venkateswara Temple. This is a less touristy, beautiful and interesting temple to visit. There are many Hindu worshippers here, so it's worth a quick stop to round off your day trip from Sydney with a bang!

This itinerary is perfect for those who have little time but want to enjoy a lot. If you prefer to extend your trip, there are some glamping sites in this region that can be a great option for an overnight stay! See here some of the most famous glamping sites in NSW.
