The field of Early Childhood Education has become increasingly popular among international students in Australia. This is due to the job opportunities, high pay and the fact that it opens doors for those who wish to stay in the country after completing their studies.

To make it easier, with the collaboration of Kirana CollegeWe have selected and answered the most common questions asked by exchange students.

1- Who are the courses for?
The Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care courses are designed for those who want to work as an educator of children aged 0-6 in Australia or who want to take their learning back to their country of origin. This age group is where a child's whole personality is created and is the beginning of their education, making it essential and fundamental in their upbringing.

2- What is the difference between the Certificate III and the Diploma?
In Certificate III, students understand how the day-to-day life of a childcare center works and how to use a child's profile to plan their learning experiences.

In the Diploma, teaching focuses on management and leadership within childcare and the practical skills needed to stimulate a child's development and care for their emotional, physical and social well-being.

3- What are the entry requirements?
To enter this field of study, you need to have an advanced intermediate level of English, have completed secondary school and, most importantly, love children.

4- How long does each one last?
The Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care lasts one year. The Diploma lasts 1 year and 6 months. If the student wishes, it is possible to complete both courses in 2 years.

5- When can students start working in the field?
The exchange student can already work in the field as soon as they start studying Certificate III.

6- How much is the investment?
The payment plan for the course is by term, with each term costing around AUD 2,100 + fees.

7 - What careers and occupations can students pursue?
With the Certificate III, students can work as nannies, childcare workers, family day care workers and playground supervisors. And with the Diploma, professionals can work as coordinators, managers and directors of educational centers.

8- What certifications are required to work in the field?
In addition to the courses already mentioned, the profession requires other certifications, which are Working with Children Check, National Police Check and First Aid.

9- What is the average salary in this profession?
The average salary for professionals in the field ranges from AUD20 to AUD30 an hour, depending on experience, certifications and position.

10- Does the course offer the opportunity to stay in Australia?
The early childhood education area offers the possibility of requesting the visa 485This is the first step to entering the Teaching field, which allows the individual to work in the country for 18 months after completing their studies. In addition, this is the first step to entering the Teaching area, which offers the possibility of residency in Australia. We recommend that exchange students check the Australian Department of ImmigrationConditions are subject to change.
