*For passport holders from France, Ireland and Canada, the age limit is 35.

Other requirements and special features

The Working Holiday Visa applicant must also meet certain health requirements. The tests required will depend on personal circumstances, including length of stay, country of citizenship, time spent in another country during the last five years and intended activities in Australia. Exam results are generally valid for 12 months.

While in the land of the kangaroo, the holder of this type of visa is responsible for all medical costs and does not have access to Medicare (national health plan), unless the country of origin has a reciprocal health agreement with Australia.

Australia is an extremely safe country and, in order to maintain this achievement, the government can also request a "police check" (criminal record certificate) from each country in which you have lived for 12 months or more in the last 10 years after your 16th birthday. In addition, the person may also have to provide biometric data (a scientific form of identification) as part of the application.

The Working Holiday Visa does not allow a dependent child to accompany the visa holder during their stay in Australia. And in the case of couples, each must have their own visa.
